Rep. Jim Jordan, a U.S. Congressman representing Ohio’s 4th district since 2007, posted a series of statements on social media on September 2, 2025, addressing crime rates in Chicago and tax policies affecting American workers.

In one post dated September 2, 2025, Jordan wrote: "-54 shot. 7 killed.

-Labor Day weekend.

-Democrat-run Chicago.

But for some reason the Left continues to oppose President Trump cleaning up these cities!"

Later that day, he added: "If Democrats won’t clean up their cities, President Trump will." (September 2, 2025).

Jordan also commented on proposed changes to federal tax policy: "No Tax on Tips and No Tax on Overtime saves overtime and tipped workers nearly $1,500 per year.

That’s more money in your pocket.

More money for your family.

More money invested in America.

Thank you, President Trump!" (September 2, 2025).

Jim Jordan has represented Ohio’s 4th District in Congress since replacing Mike Oxley in 2007 and previously served in both the Ohio House of Representatives and the Ohio Senate between 1995 and 2006. Born in Troy, Ohio in 1964 and currently residing in Urbana, Jordan holds degrees from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and Capital University.
