In an additional post at 18:36 UTC, Jordan offered words of encouragement to members of the Ohio National Guard traveling to Washington D.C., writing, "God Bless the members of the Ohio National Guard that are heading to D.C. to help clean up the crime in our nation’s capital.

Jim Jordan has represented Ohio's 4th District in Congress since succeeding Mike Oxley in 2007. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served in both chambers of the Ohio legislature from 1995 through 2006. Born in Troy, Ohio in 1964 and currently residing in Urbana, Jordan holds degrees from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and Capital University.
