Rep. Jim Jordan, a U.S. Congressman representing Ohio’s 4th district since 2007, posted a series of tweets on July 30, 2025, alleging that UK authorities sought to have social media platforms censor certain content globally.

One minute later, he added in a follow-up tweet, "UK authorities didn’t want this censorship to be limited to their country, either." In a third tweet at 01:30:26 UTC, Jordan wrote, "The message:
Criticize @Keir_Starmer or UK immigration policy from anywhere in the world, and you should watch out."
