Rep. Jim Jordan, a U.S. Congressman representing Ohio’s 4th district since 2007, posted a series of tweets on July 30, 2025, alleging that UK authorities sought to have social media platforms censor certain content globally.

In his first tweet at 01:30:24 UTC, Jordan stated, "UK authorities sent the post to platforms as an example of 'concerning content' that they should censor." One minute later, he added in a follow-up tweet, "UK authorities didn’t want this censorship to be limited to their country, either." In a third tweet at 01:30:26 UTC, Jordan wrote, "The message:

Criticize @Keir_Starmer or UK immigration policy from anywhere in the world, and you should watch out."

Jim Jordan has served in Congress since replacing Mike Oxley in 2007. Prior to his tenure in the U.S. House of Representatives, he served in the Ohio House of Representatives from 1995 to 2000 and the Ohio Senate from 2001 to 2006. Born in Troy, Ohio in 1964 and currently residing in Urbana, Jordan holds degrees from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and Capital University.
