Jordan has held his congressional seat since succeeding Mike Oxley in 2007 and previously served in both chambers of the Ohio state legislature from 1995 through 2006. Born in Troy, Ohio in 1964 and currently residing in Urbana, he holds degrees from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and Capital University.
