Rep. Jim Jordan, who has represented Ohio’s 4th District in the U.S. Congress since 2007, recently shared several posts on social media addressing current political topics and media coverage. Jordan, born in Troy, Ohio in 1964 and currently residing in Urbana, has a background that includes service in both the Ohio House of Representatives and Senate prior to his tenure in Congress. He holds degrees from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and Capital University.

On July 12, 2025, Jordan commented on contrasting media responses to actions taken by Presidents Biden and Trump. He stated: "Joe Biden fired American military heroes for not getting the COVID vaccine. The media didn’t care. President Trump cuts 2% of State Department employees, and the media acts like the world is ending."

In a post dated July 14, 2025, Jordan criticized what he described as selective outrage among Democrats regarding public figures’ activities versus border security concerns. He wrote: "Democrats are mad that JD Vance visited Disneyland with his family. But not mad that Joe Biden let criminals, gang members, and terror suspects illegally cross the southern border."

Later on July 14, 2025, Jordan highlighted upcoming major national events under former President Trump’s potential future leadership. He said: "President Trump will get to host: -America’s 250th birthday -The Olympics -The World Cup Golden Age!"

Jim Jordan succeeded Mike Oxley in Congress and previously served in state legislative roles from 1995 through 2006.
