Rep. Jim Jordan, currently serving as the U.S. Representative for Ohio’s 4th district, recently shared a series of posts on social media highlighting issues related to business environment and public safety. Jordan, who has represented his district since 2007 after succeeding Mike Oxley, has also served in both chambers of the Ohio state legislature and holds degrees from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and Capital University.
On July 14, 2025, Jordan encouraged businesses to consider relocating to Ohio by stating "Move your business to Ohio. More freedom. Less government." He included links for further reading in his post.
Later that day, he commented on gun violence statistics in Chicago with the statement "Chicago: Over 2,200 Shooting Victims During Last 12 Months This is what happens with Democrats in charge!" The tweet attributed responsibility for these figures to Democratic leadership.
Jordan also posted a separate link without commentary on July 14, 2025 (source).
Jim Jordan was born in Troy, Ohio in 1964 and currently resides in Urbana. He began his political career in the Ohio House of Representatives (1995-2000), later serving in the Ohio Senate (2001-2006), before joining Congress.
