This special edition of Symphony Storytime hosted by Vibe Coffeehouse and Café puts the spotlight on stories and music that celebrate the vast musical contributions of African American to the classical music idiom. Featuring community reader Elisa Bradley and music from the Lima Symphony Orchestra string quartet.Books:

"The Bat Boy and His Violin" by Gavin Curtis, Illustrated by E. B. Lewis

"Power in My Pen: A Snippet of The Life of Ida B. Wells" by Louie T. McClain II, edited by Francis W. Minikon Jr., Illustrated by M. Ridho Mentarie

"Free at Last!" (selections) by Doreen Rappaport, illustrated by Shane W. Evans

With a focus on creative movement and music literacy, "Symphony Storytime" is designed to spark children’s imaginations and foster a lifelong love of and appreciation for music.
