Engineering Technology Team Wins For Teaching Innovation

Ett

The Ohio State University at Lima issued the following announcement on May 9.

Each year, the College of Engineering at The Ohio State University honors excellence in teaching, innovation and service. Faculty, researchers and partners were recognized in April at the 25th annual Distinguished Faculty Awards.

“We are proud to honor those who have gone above and beyond in the eyes of their peers and college leadership. The nominations we received highlight the extraordinary caliber of teaching and research performed across the college,” said Dean Ayanna Howard, the Monte Ahuja Endowed Dean’s Chair. “From the students whose lives you touch to your dedication to innovate solutions to the world’s most critical issues, your impact reaches far beyond campus.”

Three representatives from The Ohio State University at Lima attended the awards ceremony and were part of the Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology team that accepted the Ralph L. Boyer Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Engineering Innovation. Lima’s representatives were Tim Rehner, dean and director; Mark Kleffner, associate dean; and Sabine Jeschonnek, professor of physics.

The Ralph L. Boyer Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Engineering Innovation is named for the late Ralph L. Boyer (’24, mechanical engineering) and is presented to a faculty team or to an individual faculty member who has made outstanding contributions to the improvement of undergraduate engineering education.

Engineering technology is offered at the Lima, Mansfield and Marion campuses. It is ideal for prospective students who like to find solutions to problems, are interested in leadership roles and want to learn how things work. The engineering technology program, which includes a concentration in manufacturing, was developed with input from global manufacturers.
