City of Celina issued the following announcement on Oct. 28.
As you are aware, Mercer County has been identified as a "RED" County, which indicates a high rate of COVID-19 Incidence. According to the Governor's office and Ohio Department of Health, Mercer County currently has over 488 cases of the virus per 100,000 people, significantly higher that 3 months ago.
As of Tuesday (10/27/20), 2,509 Ohioans tested positive for the coronavirus, marking the 12th day the state has surpassed 2,000 new daily COVID-19 cases. In his briefing concerning the virus on Tuesday, Gov. Mike DeWine stated that "Every Ohioan needs to be alarmed by what we are seeing. There is no sign that Ohio's new virus cases have reached a peak yet."
The Mask Mandate issued by the Governor remains in place. While many businesses are allowing entrance without a mask, people are doing so at their risk and are potentially exposing others.
Wearing masks, social distancing of at least 6 feet, and making the effort to frequently wash your hands are important steps in helping to stop the spread.
