About 64.7 percent of the 1,795 degrees and certificates handed out by the University of Northwestern Ohio in 2017-18 were to students in mechanic and repair technologies/technicians programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Lima conferred 1000 associate's degrees and 162 certificates in mechanic and repair technologies/technicians programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in automobile/automotive mechanics technology/technician. Data shows the school gave out 372 associate's degrees in automobile/automotive mechanics technology/technician, followed by 361 associate's degrees in diesel mechanics technology/technician and 236 associate's degrees in high performance and custom engine technician/mechanic.

The university enrolled 3,420 students for 2017-18, including 3,343 in undergraduate programs and 77 in graduate programs.
