Rep. Jim Jordan, U.S. Congressman representing Ohio’s 4th district since 2007, shared a series of posts on July 28, 2025, addressing issues related to online censorship and foreign influence on social media platforms.

In his first post, Jordan referenced actions taken against a European Union official: "First, we took on top EU censor @ThierryBreton when he tried to silence President Trump during the 2024 campaign. He resigned a month later." (July 28, 2025).

He then commented on recent UK legislation regarding internet regulation: "The Online Safety Act is the UK’s online censorship law. It allows the British government to dictate how social media companies must censor so-called 'disinformation,' 'misinformation,' and hate speech." (July 28, 2025).

Jordan concluded by highlighting ongoing investigations into foreign pressure on U.S. speech online: "Now, when foreign censors pressure companies to take down US speech, @JudiciaryGOP will know. Subpoenaed documents produced to the Committee offer new evidence that this is happening." (July 28, 2025).

Jim Jordan has served in Congress since replacing Mike Oxley in 2007 and previously held positions in both the Ohio House of Representatives and Senate. Born in Troy, Ohio in 1964 and currently residing in Urbana, Jordan holds degrees from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and Capital University.
