State Representative Angie King (R-Celina) announced that the USDA Supplemental Disaster Relief Program (SDRP) application is now open. This program provides financial assistance to farmers affected by natural disasters in 2023 and 2024, with a total of $16 billion in federal funding available.

"The USDA's Supplemental Disaster Relief Program is a lifeline for American agriculture, providing essential support that empowers our farmers to recover from the devastating impacts of natural disasters," said King. "It's an investment in our food supply, ensuring that producers can continue feeding the nation."

Eligible producers include those who suffered losses due to natural disasters occurring in calendar years 2023 and/or 2024. These disasters include wildfires, hurricanes, floods, derechos, excessive heat, tornadoes, winter storms, freeze (including a polar vortex), smoke exposure, excessive moisture, qualifying droughts, and related conditions.

To apply for SDRP, producers must submit the FSA-526 form along with other necessary forms on file with FSA.
