Fowler Science Series welcomes state climatologist | The Ohio State University at Lima
The Ohio State University at Lima, the Lima City Schools and the City of Lima welcome State Climatologist Aaron B. Wilson to campus Tuesday, January 31, for the 2023 Fowler Science Series. Dr. Wilson will present the keynote address “Climate Change and How Changing Weather Extremes are Impacting All of Us” from 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. in the Martha W. Farmer Theatre for the Performing Arts at Ohio State Lima.
The William Fowler Science Series is a cross-disciplinary program for the community and local middle and high school students. The Lima City Schools, in collaboration with outstanding Ohio State faculty and leaders, focus a portion of their fall semester's science curriculum on the science series' topic of the year.
This year, 50 students from South Science and Technology Magnet and 75 from Lima Senior High School will visit the biology and physics labs at the Ohio State Lima campus for hands-on activities. They will also get to learn more about being a college student from current Ohio State Lima students.
Dr. Wilson is a state climatologist of Ohio, an assistant professor of ag weather with OSU Extension, and a principal investigator at the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center. Learn more about Aaron Wilson.
The keynote address is free and open to the public, but priority seating will be given to the middle, high school and college students in attendance.
