Jodi Pierstorff will lead a discussion about American Sign Language and her experience with the deaf community and as a lecturer.
Pierstorff is a lecturer at Ohio State Lima, Rhodes State and Wright State Lake Campus in Celina. She also interpret for the Deaf every Sunday at her church and periodically at other places (doctor's appointments, hospitals, funerals, weddings, etc.). Pierstorff received her AAS in ASL/Interpreter Training from Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio, a BS in Education from Charter Oak College in Connecticut and her MEd from Marygrove College in Michigan. Pierstorff has been teaching since 2000 but did not start teaching at the college level until 2006. Pierstorff taught in different high schools until 2014 and then went to strictly teaching college classes.
