University of Northwestern Ohio issued the following announcement on April 25.

The University of Northwestern Ohio is announcing a new partnership with Frontier Truck Parts. The purpose of this partnership is to increase interest in the world-class Diesel Technology program at UNOH while also providing opportunities for students to make a seamless transition into the Frontier Truck Parts team upon graduation.

“We have employees at Frontier Truck Parts that graduated from University of Northwestern Ohio. We are big believers in the diesel programs that UNOH has to offer and are true advocates for the students and for the trucking industry.” said Harry Weller, owner of Frontier Truck Parts. “We want Frontier to be a student’s top choice to work for once they graduate.”

“Having a relationship with a parts warehouse like Frontier Truck Parts will help the university and students gain access to high quality training aids that we can use when educating our students within the Diesel Technology program,” said UNOH Diesel Division Head Chuck Elwer. “In addition to training aid access, the Frontier Truck Parts partnership will provide yet another career avenue for the hundreds of students who graduate from our program each year.”

As part of this partnership, Frontier Truck Parts is donating a Cummins X15 engine, 3 Detroit Diesel engines, electrical components, and emissions aftertreatment for instructional use in the classroom and labs in the Diesel Program.  Frontier Truck parts will also be sponsoring the Drivelines classroom which will be outfitted with materials to reflect Frontier’s brand and product availability. Finally, students will have top-of-mind awareness about the career opportunities available at Frontier Truck Parts as they complete their education at UNOH.
