Cost of college went up for all students at James A Rhodes State College

In-state tuition and fees rose 6.2 percent for 2018-19 at James A Rhodes State College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Ohio residents paid $4,085 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $240 more than the $3,845 charged for 2017-18.

Non-resident students would have paid 100 percent more than residents this year, or $8,169. Non-resident tuition and fees grew 6.2 percent from $7,689 in 2017-18.

About 94 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Ohio residents.

Data shows 79 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 216 students received grants or scholarships totaling $807,433 and 119 students took out student loans totaling more than $570,415.

Including all undergraduates (4,002), 1,049 students used grants or scholarships totaling $3.6 million, and 728 students took out $3.6 million in federal student loans.
